Hands On Play - Day 10

Mixing Concoctions!

First we did the baking soda, food coloring and vinegar
and watched the explosions :)

Then I found this recipe for Flubber and decided to try it

Supplies:
2 cups white glue
4 Tablespoons Borax
food coloring
water

Mix together 2 cups glue, food coloring and 1 1/2 cups of warm water

In a separate container mix together:
1 1/3 cups warm water
4 Tablespoons Borax

Dump glue mixture into Borax mixture (do not stir - it will form on its own)
If too sticky roll in Borax
If too much water (like mine) - dump out excess water

The boys lost interest while we were making this so they left and my daughter and I just finished up the Flubber.  She had a ton of fun - we bounced it, formed it into bowls to make "cakes", and stretched it :)

Then the boys came back.  She was not happy to have to share but there was plenty for all three.

Store in plastic baggies.

Have a great weekend!  See you back here on Monday for another play day challenge.  Feel free to stop by this weekend for two different Close To My Heart Blog Hops :)
