I have made a ton of projects with this paper pack already (just search this blog for Dotty For You) and am so in love with it :)  For this hop I made a layout of my new nephew . . . it was easy to case the page from one of the many projects on the included inspiration sheet.

I also found some great artwork and put together a pinboard just for Dotty For You - which you are welcome to follow.  This card is from that board.

 And here they are together

My Sister, My Friend

It is time for the SEM monthly sketch challenge and I hope you'll stop over.  This month we have a great sketch from Lisa Hoel

And I made this layout of my sister and I

The scrap twist for this challenge is to do some form of distressing.  I used ink to distress the page, letters in the title and the journaling block.  Love using ink to distress items - gives it a vintage look that I just love!

My sister is only 16 months younger than I am and I remember growing up together - we were the best of friends and the worst of enemies.  I am the oldest of six children (five of which are girls) and each one of my sisters (and now a sister-in-law) hold a special place in my heart.  I love that I can laugh, cry, scrapbook and have fun with them.  Reba McEntire's song My Sister was the inspiration behind this title and journaling.  I just love that song!

So glad you stopped by today - I enjoy sharing my memories and artwork with you all :)  Now head on over to Scrapping Everday Miracles and join our challenge.  I can't wait to see what you create with this beautiful sketch!  Have fun with it and don't forget to distress (everyone needs a little de stressing in their lives why not their artwork too - lol).  I love your comments.

Smiley Winners . . .

Thank you all for your joy in playing along with us this past month as we raised money for Operation Smile through the Spontaneous Smiley Smile-a-thon.  Maybe I set my sights too high but am happy to announce that we raised enough money (between smiley uploads and the fundraiser crop on March 17th) to fund 1 1/2 surgeries!  Great job friends!  You should be proud of yourselves.

No one actually even responded to my giveaway for the Smiley Book
but Deb Chitwood of Raising Figure Skaters raised the most money!  Congrats Deb!  Please contact Ruth directly for your free signed Smiley Color Book :)

We collected a total of 97 smiley photos and uploaded them onto Spontaneous Smiley website!  If you did not get a chance to join us you can do this anytime.

Why not take your children out for a Smiley Hunt?  Or even have them do a Smile Hunt inside your house?
Then upload your photos directly to Spontatneous Smiley - each one is worth $1 donation to
Operation Smile!

Throughout the project we had some great FREE smile printables, and Smiley crafts!  I hope you will check out the participating blogs and see what fun projects and articles they have posted . .

I'll leave you with these two songs. Whenever I hear someone say smile I think of these songs that my Mama sings . . .

These remind me to smile and remind me of my mom :)  Hope they leave you smiling too!  Thanks so much for all your help with this project!  I am blessed by each and everyone of you!!
