SEM Birthday Blog Hop

It's time :) Our SEM birthday celebration is here!!!

If you are coming from Cara's blog you are in the right place!  Welcome! I am so excited to have you join us for the 2nd SEM Birthday Celebration!  It has been an exciting year at Scrapping Everyday Miracles.  This fun hop is not all we have planned for our celebration.  We will also have 5 fun and easy challenges that you can enter to win some amazing prizes. The celebration doesn't stop with the blog... on our facebook group http://www.facebook.com/groups/200817343359030/ we will be offering games each day of the event that will have some fabulous prizes.  We will also be posting and discussing the challenges that we created for the Birthday Celebration.  We might even sneak in some fun random giveaways.  I hope to see you there!

On with the Hop begin....

Each of the Design Team members have chosen a project to share with you on their blogs.  Make sure that you hop along to each blog because you never know where there might be more prizes hiding along the way!  In addition to prizes we have a special birthday scavenger hunt for you :)   On several of the blogs there will be a project photo that has birthday hats hidden in the photo.  As you hop through count how many hats you find.  When you are finished with the hop write the total number of hats you found in a comment on the Scrapping Everyday Miracles blog hop post (the last stop on our hop).  Have fun and happy hopping!

SEM Hop into Spring Blog Hop

I believe in the promise of Spring even if there is snow on the ground outside my window as I type this post!  We live in Amish Country Pennsylvania and while spring means some unpleasant smells and muddy playgrounds I love everything about it!  Love bringing flowers inside, birds music, sunshine and even rain puddles.  I believe that warmer weather is coming and the hope of new growth, colorful flowers and birds singing.  "Behold I am Making All Things New"  -  this is a promise I cling to on so many levels!

Welcome to the Scrapping Everyday Miracles Hop into Spring Blog Hop!  If you are coming from Christy's blog you are in the right place :)  You can view the entire hop order at the end of this post!

I created these bunnies and paper carrots for my kids Easter baskets this year!  Keep reading on for the tutorial on how you can make your own or hop on over to Lisa's blog to see what she created :)  Happy Hopping!  Enjoy the Newness of promised Spring!

The twist for our hop was to add flowers - I made these bunnies into basket tags and for my little girl added a flower to her bunny :)

And Speaking of "new" some new members have joined the SEM Design Team.  Welcome to Toni, Jessica, Helen, Tracey S., and Christy!  So excited to be working with you this term!!

Here is the blog hop order:

Here is an example of a flower album after it has been decorated!

In order to be eligible to win you need to leave a comment on each DT member's blog and we will randomly choose one blog to select the winner from.  All winners will be announced Saturday, April 6th.

You are invited to join us over at our SEM Facebook Chit-Chat Group.  We have a great prize over there also . . . to go along with a fun new challenge!  If you are not a part of this interactive and inspiration crafting group just request to join and we'll welcome you with open arms :)

Now hop on over to Lisa's blog to see what special project she created for our hop!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Tutorial Below - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

1.  Cut paper into 6 X 4 inch rectangles.

2.  Tape adhesive to one 6 inch side and BOTH 4 inch sides - make sure this is VERY strong adhesive - I ended up using liquid glass after forming my carrots because my tape runner just wasn't strong enough.

3.  Roll paper up starting at the non adhesive 6 inch side moving towards the adhesive 6 inch side and seal

4.  For the Carrot top I added three 1/2 inch strips of green pattern paper at various lengths, glue to inside of the roll and then pinch roll shut.

5.  I used my bone folder and paper trimmer to score twice at the top of the carrot - I do not have a machine to crimp the ends but that would make this process much easier.

6.  Fill carrots with candy (or whatever you choose)

7.  Pinch the end of the roll the opposite direction you closed the top.

8.  Repeat with other pieces of paper until you have as many carrots as you desire.

9.  Enjoy!
