Smiley Winners . . .

Thank you all for your joy in playing along with us this past month as we raised money for Operation Smile through the Spontaneous Smiley Smile-a-thon.  Maybe I set my sights too high but am happy to announce that we raised enough money (between smiley uploads and the fundraiser crop on March 17th) to fund 1 1/2 surgeries!  Great job friends!  You should be proud of yourselves.

No one actually even responded to my giveaway for the Smiley Book
but Deb Chitwood of Raising Figure Skaters raised the most money!  Congrats Deb!  Please contact Ruth directly for your free signed Smiley Color Book :)

We collected a total of 97 smiley photos and uploaded them onto Spontaneous Smiley website!  If you did not get a chance to join us you can do this anytime.

Why not take your children out for a Smiley Hunt?  Or even have them do a Smile Hunt inside your house?
Then upload your photos directly to Spontatneous Smiley - each one is worth $1 donation to
Operation Smile!

Throughout the project we had some great FREE smile printables, and Smiley crafts!  I hope you will check out the participating blogs and see what fun projects and articles they have posted . .

I'll leave you with these two songs. Whenever I hear someone say smile I think of these songs that my Mama sings . . .

These remind me to smile and remind me of my mom :)  Hope they leave you smiling too!  Thanks so much for all your help with this project!  I am blessed by each and everyone of you!!

Share A Smile

Well we are almost finished with our ShareASmile project but are waiting on Ruth (who is extremely busy with her new book release) to get the totals for us.
So I'll have a post up on Monday morning to let you all know what the total is.  Thank you for your patience (and there is still time to enter the giveaway here )

Here is a project my kids and I worked on this weekend.  Do you have left over egg dye?  I do all the time!  This year we decided to use that left over dye to make tie dye shirts :)  The kids chose the shirts they wanted to use and went at it . . .

We set them out on the back deck to dry in the sun.

They couldn't wait to put them on and show their daddy!  All three of them wore them to bed :)

Thank you for all your efforts and help with the ShareASmile project.  Here is a card I made for you all because you really truly do inspire me!

Share A Smile (Day14)

So yesterday, my kids and I went on a Smile Hunt (thanks for the idea Deb!) and we had a ton of fun.  Here is what we found

We looked all around the house and found

A Lego Smiley

Can you see this smiley?

Play set smiley

Even bird poop makes a smiley when you add the red twig dogwood branch's shadow :)

Our back Deck Smiley

The boys made this lazer gun smiley
And then they wanted to draw their own smileys so they got busy with paper and pen.  It was a lot of fun and I was really happy with how excited they got at finding (and making) smileys!  They couldn't wait to show their dad!
One more day left to collect smileys of your own and upload them onto Spontaneous Smiley website to help us raise funds for Operation Smile!  I'd love to see your smileys so feel free to link them up in a comment below :)

We have collected 55 smileys so far - not counting the ones shown here :)  Keep up the great work!!
