Crafty Chicks August Blog Hop - Travel

Welcome to the Crafty Chicks August Blog Hop!

Our theme this month is Travel and/or Vacation.  My family and I went to Harvey Cedars Bible Conference in July with our youth group.  While I was there I created several scrapbook pages and cards.  With one pack of Tommy Paper and the compliments I was able to get 10 pages created and ready for our vacation photos!  Here is one of the layouts of our afternoon at the beach.

While the journey of weight loss for me has been a LONG road and I am still not happy with the way I look in pictures I feel the need to include myself in my layouts - after all I am a big part of my story - lol and my children's story.

While I love to showcase photos in my layouts the journal entries (the story) are also very important to me.  I used a 4x6 flip flap to hide the journal entry.  I also asked each of my kids what their favorite part of the day at the beach was and included their memories word for word.

Close up of some of the details and my crazy boy :)

For those of you unfamiliar with how Flip Flaps work you just adhere them on your page (I put them on the outside of the page protector most of the time) and then have an extra place for putting photos and journaling.  Another option is to put them on the page and then punch holes in the protector, make a slice and pull the flip flap through - now you have an interactive scrapbook page :)

Thanks for hopping along with us - scroll down for the complete list of hoppers this month.  Our August hop is sponsored by Linnie Bloom Designs.  The prize is a $30 gift card to Linnie Blooms store :)  Please follow the directions on the Rafflecopter to enter and good luck!
