Now on to our featured friend this week. Maria from Joyful Stamper! She has a great link party each week so be sure to check out her blog, link up some of your own projects and tell Maria I said "hi" :)
I'm so excited to be guest posting @ Broken Treasures, thank you Elizabeth for having me! I mostly showcase CAS cardmaking on my blog but I'm slowly adding some altered projects and even venturing into home decor with my Cricut! This is such a fun hobby!!
When thinking of a project to share, my thoughts went to the upcoming school year. Teachers are such an important part of our children's lives and I know many of us try to help them in whatever way we can in providing an excellent educational experience for our children. Therefore, I decided to create a card set for a teacher in my clean and simple style.
When thinking of a project to share, my thoughts went to the upcoming school year. Teachers are such an important part of our children's lives and I know many of us try to help them in whatever way we can in providing an excellent educational experience for our children. Therefore, I decided to create a card set for a teacher in my clean and simple style.
This set consists of four cards in a simple card-wrap holder tied with twine, using cardstock, design paper, die-cuts and stamps.
I specifically created this set for a teacher to have thank you cards available to send out when needed, throughout the year. However, you can easily see the versatility of this set by simply changing the stamped sentiment.
Your children can even help in the mass production process, depending on their age! These are standard size card bases in Kraft cardstock with one layer of solid cardstock and one of designer paper. The die-cut can be whatever shape is appropriate to your theme. Apples and teachers seem to go together!
The wrap is just that, cardstock wrapped around the set of cards. From a 12x12 inch piece of cardstock, cut a stripe 5.75 inches wide. Score at 4.50, 4.75, 9.50 & 9.75 inches. You can add a decorative edge on your flap if you like. I've added a button to the twine for interest; it isn’t attached to the card-wrap.
I hope you enjoyed my little project and have a chance to make some over the summer so they're ready for the new school season! Thanks again Elizabeth for letting me visit! Wishing you all a blessed day!

ReplyDeleteLove this idea and will definitely be trying the card wrap. TFS! Off to check out Maria's blog.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet set of cards, Maria! I love the non-traditional school color palette you used. So awesome to see teacher cards in something other than primary colors. Adorable little apple die cuts, and so perfect for these. Love the sweet twine wrap. :)
