Crafty Chicks December Blog Hop

Welcome to the Crafty Chicks Sparkling Season December Blog Hop!  

We are so excited to have you hopping along with us this month!  This month it is all about the sparkle & the shine :)  My kids and I created these super simple paper trees using the Close To My Heart Sparkle & Shine paper pack and green glitter paper.   

First I used the Artbooking Cartridge on my Cricut to cut a 6", 5", 4", 3" and 2" circle out of each pattern paper.  Then we folded each circle in half, in half again, in half again and in half one more time.  Then we cut a small hole in the tip of the triangle we created in each circle.  We put a wooden dowel through the center of each one and attached a small wooden circle from the Wooden Badge Buttons on sale in while supplies last.   

This was a lot of fun and super simple to create.  We are keeping decorations simple this year because we purchased a house and are moving the first week of January.   It's a little hard to decorate when my husband wants to pack everything up - lol The favorite of everyone was the green glitter tree.  These are so simple - I mean really simple - my seven year old, six year old and three year old make them with a little help from me.  I made the Glitter one :)

Crafty Chicks Give Thanks Blog Hop

Welcome to the Crafty Chicks Give Thanks Blog Hop!  Last month we featured Halloween and we had quite a few of you share your projects with us on our facebook event :)  That was so much fun, and you are all so talented, we are going to do it again this time around so be sure to visit our facebook event and upload your own Fall/Thanksgiving themed project this week.  We can not wait to see what you have created!

This is the first stop on your hop and the complete list is at the end of the post.  I created a tag banner for Thanksgiving and put it up on one of our old windows.  In our last home we replaced the windows of the over 200 year old stone house right before my husband lost  his job and we had to sell it.  I kept quite a few of them because I'm a crafter you know.  This is the first time I'm using any of them.  We moved almost six years ago.  Whatever, at least it is getting used and I have a whole pinterest board dedicated to old windows so I'm sure I'll use the others - lol

Crafty Chicks October Hop - All Hallows Eve

Crafty Chicks Blog Hop - Back to School

Welcome to the Crafty Chicks Blog Hop - our theme this month is Back to School.  If you are coming from Krysthle's blog you are in the right place!

I like to give gifts to my kids' teachers throughout the year but especially at the beginning of the year.  Both my boys were excited about the teachers they got this year so we decided to thank them with some personalized cards.

I downloaded the free printable from g*rated blog here

Saved as an image and edited it in picmonkey.com
Then I printed them out onto CTMH Scholastic paper
(which happens to be on sale right now for only $1.75)

Then I created the card bases with Colonial White Cardstock, and matted the Scholastic paper onto Kraft Cardstock for the finished card look.  I think the teacher's liked them - I know I did ;)
