Close To My Heart National Stamping Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the National Stamping Month Blog Hop.  If you are coming from Lori's blog you are in the right place.  Once again Close To My Heart is offering a super cute double stamp set for only $5 with a $35 order.
In addition to this sale I am extending my open house sale to August 25th and it includes the following:
Free Ink pad with $25 order
Free size A or B stamp set with $50 order
Free paper pack with $75 order
or
Free size C or D stamp set with $100 order
All you have to do is go over to my website and place your order with the Pink Cricut party then e-mail me your choice of free item at alwaysdeeper (at) hotmail (dot) com
When I first saw this great stamp set I immediately thought of project life.  It is super cute for that and the artwork shown with the stamp set reminded me of "a week in the life of" type of page.  Unfortunately I am in extreme pain right now and have been since Monday a week ago.  After an ER trip, blood work, xrays and some other tests and ultrasound showed that I have several large gallstones - so I am meeting with a surgeon tomorrow.  The pain is almost unbearable and the headaches are extreme.  It is taking all my energy just to write this post so I am not uploading any artwork to my blog for the next few days at least.
If you are the praying type I would really appreciate your prayers.
Here are some pictures of the double stamp set

Thanks for stopping by.  Now hop on over to Wendy's blog.

Feature a Friend {on Friday}

Welcome back to Feature a Friend - Happy Friday!  Today is a big day!  It is the last day to place an order from the Customer Appreciation Party on my website and be entered to win a brand new Artiste Bundle or $100 shopping spree from Close To My Heart!  More details on that can be found here and believe me right now your chances of winning are GOOD!

We are also partying over on my facebook page with games and prizes so stop on over and play along :)

It is also Feature a Friend day :)  I am so happy to have Mary Ann Jenkins from Rock, Paper, Scissors blog (great name right?!).  I stumbled across her blog from pinterest and she is one talented paper crafter!

I was thrilled when she agreed to be a guest poster (especially considering we had to reschedule because of my absent mommy brain).  So here is Mary Ann with a fabulous project for us . . .

I'm excited to be Guest Blogging here @ Broken Treasures,  a special thank you to Elizabeth for having me!
First, a little about me...
I have 3 awesome boys, 1 sweet little princess and a wonderful husband that are the subjects of many of my scrapbook layouts. I love recording the memories and stories we create in our everyday lives. I've been scrapbooking since 1986, when I heard a commercial on the radio about learning to preserve my family memories. A few patterned papers and decorative scissors later I was hooked, and never imagined scrapbooking would become a passion, or that I would have a room in my home dedicated to the hobby.
One of my favorite things to scrapbook (besides my kids of course!) are old family photos. I like knowing that I am handing down a part of our family history to the next generation.  On this layout, are photos of my Dad in-law when he was just a newborn, along with what would be my kids Great Great Grandparents.

Since there are very few pictures of my Dad in-law as a newborn,I scanned the photos,re-printed them at home, then cut the edges of the photos with a pair of those scissors from 1986 (yep, I still have them!) to give them a vintage look just like the photos did way back when.
I also added the hand made flower that is very quick and easy to make!
For the flower, I punched 7  1" circles from double sided paper.

I then folded 6 of the circles in half to have a center line to follow. Next I folded the sides in, meeting at that center line

After folding, I glued each of the 6 pieces to the last unfolded circle, then added a button to the centerYou now have a perfect embellishment to match your favorite papers!

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope I have inspired you to get out some of those old family photos and start scrapping!
Mary Ann

Thank YOU Mary Ann for being willing to guest post and inspiring us with your beautiful page!  That flower is adorable and I forsee some of these on my future layouts and cards :)

Have a great Friday and don't forget to stop by my house tonight for some great crafting and fun!  Those not local you are welcome to join us on my facebook page - we'll be playing games all night long :)

Great party going on this week - check out the details here

Close To My Heart Markers

We are playing another game today over on my facebook page for a chance to win a brand new 2-marker set from Close To My Heart.  These duel tipped alcohol markers are perfect for blending and coloring in stamped images.  They are not meant to be competitive with Copics but rather compliment them.  They are reasonably priced and perfect for stampers!  Come on over and play with us for a chance at your very own set :)

Also check out my new on-line friend Leigh at Hart2Heart blog.  Her husband is deployed and we met through some on-line group.  She is super sweet and I sent her a package of Close To My Heart products for her to review and just to lift her spirits a little bit.  Nothing like scrapbooking and paper crafting to occupy your time while you wait for your soul mate to return :)  She and her mom had a great time creating with the products and you'll find all her beautiful work here.

Tomorrow is the big day with games, giveaways, and prizes!  I hope you'll join us here for some scrappin and paper crafting fun!

Still partying it up . . .

We are still partying over on my Facebook Page for a Studio J digital layout . . .

Close To My Heart has made some significant changes to their digital program.  Everything for everyone is now free and there is no membership fees ever!  You can play around with some great new layouts created by the Art Department at CTMH for faster photo albums that look like you took a ton of time to make them!  Complete kits are available or you can mix and match them.

There are a ton of great tutorials on youtube for Studio J but my absolute favorite is Amy Ulen!  Here is one of her videos.  Amy is a full time teacher and a Studio J digital expert and I was honored to meet her at convention.

Here are a few of my Studio J layouts

Want to win your own Studio J 2-page layout?

Head on over to Studio J and try it out (Studio J requires an account but the account is FREE)!  Then come back and leave me a comment letting me know what your favorite Studio J paper pack it :)  Share Studio J with your friends and family on facebook and twitter - two more entries :)  Super simple!
