Cooking with Cricut Give Thanks Blog Hop

Welcome to the Broken Treasures and the Cooking with Cricut Blog Hop!  If you are coming from Cooking with Cricut than you are in the right place.  Our theme for this hop is Give Thanks!  We are giving you some different ideas for decorating your Thanksgiving table.

I made some napkin rings using the Art Philosophy cartridge and stamping the images using the Thanksgiving stamp set.

I made some of the napkin rings into turkeys.  First I cut out scalloped circles using the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  Then cut them in half to make the turkey "feathers".

Then I cut out turkey shapes from Kraft Cardstock.

Then I glued the body onto the "feathers" and glued the whole thing onto "ring" that I made from a paper roll covered with cardstock.

We store them all in the Gratitude Box.

I'm giving the whole box set to my mother (who I am forever grateful for) and so I'm linking this project with the challenge from Heart to Heart this week.

Here is a candle ring I made using the Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the flowers.  Some of the flowers were made from book pages others from cardstock.

First I measured my candle stand and wrapped some wire filled twine around it twice.  Then I cut the wire and twisted it to secure it in a circle shape.

Then I set it over the candle to make sure it would fit

Next I cut out the roses at 3 inches, inked them in autumn colors and rolled them - securing them with glue. Once they were all rolled, I started gluing them (using a hot glue gun) to the wire base along with some green silk hydrangeas and orange berries.

All told I used 12 roses for the finished ring.  These would also look super cute tied with a ribbon on a window as a mini wreath.

Here is my Thanksgiving table - burlap with paper turkeys, pumpkins, and some berries.

And some super simple and super cute paper pumpkins with initials (cut out with the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge) for our place settings - I added the leaf using 1/4 of a petal from the green silk hydrangea.

Gratitude is something I need to practice every day but am especially thankful for this time of year when it is a constant reminder all around me!  I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones :)

Yes, I have blog candy (and there is some more great "candy" along the hop :) )
