Close To My Heart New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to the Close To My Heart New Product Blog Hop

I saw this tutorial on making little sailboats and thought I could alter it to make my own.

So here is the best part of these little sailboats :)  You can make almost any card out of them using any paper pack.  I've had so many friends have babies lately (including my own brand new nephew who is now home from the NICU - praise the Lord and thanks to those of you who knew and were praying).

Here is my baby card using the sail boat (I made the bottom of the boat by cutting a piece of cardstock with the circle punch and then cutting it in half.  I pasted a small piece of burlap ribbon to the base and cut around the circle.  The sale is using the Baby Cakes paper pack.  I created the "waves" with the new stitch guide - which I love - and then using the outdoor denim maker traced over the holes.  The "welcome baby" stamp was created using the B is for Baby stamp set stamped in sunset ink and cut out like a banner.  I finished off the card with a piece of hemp.

Here is the second card I made.
Using the Tommy Paper pack (this technique is great for scraps) I cut a triangle and use the circle punch to create the boat bottom.  The sentiment is from Sail Away stamp set (both carry over items from last catalog).  The water was created using the BRAND new scallop punch (LOVE IT!).

Reminded me of this song :)  "Sail away with me Honey - what will be will be"

Here are a few close up shots
