She's Somebody's Hero . . .

Happy Monday friends.  I'm writing the scrap challenge over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles today and would love for you to visit and even join us this month :)
If you are coming from SEM, welcome, I'm so glad you are here.

The challenge this month is to make a page about your mother (grandmother, mother figure or you being a mother).  The Scrap Twist is to use a book page of some sort.

Here is my page

You'll find my story behind the challenge here.

I chose a page out of a song book to use on my layout because my mother and music are always said in the same sentence.  Everything reminds her of a song and she loves to listen to music, sing, make music with my children and dance.  Sometimes I feel like my life is a musical when I'm with my Mama :)

The title of the Song is "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" and I chose that song for my page because it was My Mama who taught me about Jesus and showed me in her words and actions that indeed the best friend we have in this life (and the next) is Jesus.   The photos for my layout are of my family when I was young.  There is a photo of me holding my baby brother with my mom when I was about five years old.  The rest of the photos are of my family when it was only my sister and I (there are actually five girls and one boy in my family now).  A few things I remember about my Mama growing up - she loved to have fun and she loved to sing.  Dinner may not have always been on the table at the same time every night and sometimes the house was a mess but that was because my Mama was talking to a friend who needed a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen - or she was praying with a sister - or she was making a meal for someone in need - or someone unexpected stopped by and she took the time for them.  Next to Jesus and my father - people ("any people" as my son would say) were the most important thing to my Mother.

I realize that not everyone has been blessed with a caring and loving mother - I am even more thankful for the one I have.  I know that she is always praying for me, will listen to me anytime I need to talk and loves me and my children.  We may not always see things eye to eye - because God saw fit to make us very different - but she will always be my Mama and I will always love her.  I continue to thank God for the blessing she is in my life and the way He has grown me because of her!

I'd love to hear your own stories so feel free to leave me a comment :)
Thanks for stopping by - I hope you'll join our challenge - I can't wait to see your pages!
