Challenges

I have not posted any projects for challenges in a long time and thought I would give it a try again.  After taking the Clean & Simple On-line class for the past two weeks I was really excited about all the things I learned.  One of the challenges was to create a set of cards.

I found this photo from Heart 2 Heart to find inspiration and went with the nature aspect of the photo and the bird in the center tag on the bottom . . .

Papertrey Ink Blog had a challenge today to pick your favorite project from last year and use it to inspire you to make a new project.

So I found this card from last year and used the same branch to inspire the new cards I made

The other thing that inspired me from this card was the challenge that I used it for.  I have never ever found such an inspirational challenge as Feel The Love project over at Funky Cards Blog.  This young lady is super sweet to come up with families who need an extra touch of love in the form of handmade cards.  She challenges her readers to make cards for a different family each month.  This month's family lost one of their precious twin daughters just before Christmas.

Sweet Olivia went home to Jesus on December 21, 2011.  My thoughts and prayers are truly with this family.  If you want to make a card for them as well - won't you consider joining Madison and her Feel the Love campaign

So here is the card I made for the Cappelluti family

I made a whole set of them.  I cut out the bird shape and the same branch as my "whoo's 2 card" using the Art Philosophy Cartridge for the Cricut Machine.  I also used some paper from a new paper pack coming in Close To My Heart's Spring/Summer Idea Book (you can order from this catalog starting on Feb. 1st).  The flower is a stamp from one of my favorite new stamps also coming that Idea Book release!  I used my CTMH colored pencils to color in the flowers.

Now I just need to find a pretty way to package them all together and I think they will make a super sweet gift for someone's birthday :)
