Cooking with Cricut Cornucopia

Thanksgiving is a time for just that - being thankful!  Welcome to the Cooking with Cricut weekly challenge!  This week the challenge is Harvest theme - make something to do with fruits and cornucopia.  How fun!

I decided to go with the theme and take it a little further with the focus being on graditude.  Traditionally the cornucopia is a symbol of plenty or abundance.  Greeks and Romans believed the cornucopia to have mythological powers.  I think it is just a beautiful tangible reminder of just how blessed we really are.  With that in mind I made this Cornucopia similar to the one found at flipflops and applesauce.

First I rolled a paper bag into the cone shape.

Then I wrapped and glued twine around the cone

Towards the end I wrapped the twine
and then folded it to go back the other direction.

Using the Art Philosophy Cartridge I made the flowers to decorate
the cornucopia, added some berries and a maple leaf.

A close up of the flowers - love this cartridge!!

Then I filled the cornucopia with "fruits" on popsicle sticks.
Some of them have flowers on the end that I cut on the cartridge and then
stamped with a flower from Hooray Bouquet stamp set.

On the sticks we wrote things we are thankful for.  I have most of them blank
so that we can write things throughout the month and date them.

Some of the sticks with writing - I too am thankful for Jesus :)

I can't wait to see all the projects you cook up with this theme.  Remember to link your projects up with Cooking with Cricut!  Thanks for stopping by :)

  1. Absolutely stunning, Elizabeth!! Seriously, it is so elegant. I think it is such a neat idea to write thankful ideas down and use that as a reminder when we feel not so thankful!! :)
