Close To My Heart December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the December Hop!  I am so glad you are here.  If you just arrived this is a full circle hop so you can just go from blog to blog but if you want to start at the beginning (or see the full list) you can go to Adeline's blog.  You should be arriving from Alyson's blog.

This month's special is the opportunity to get a brand new Picture My Life kit when you join Close To My Heart!  This extends until December 15th (and makes the perfect gift for yourself or a creative person on your list this year).  Our stamp of the month is called Special Care and is available only from December 1st through December 31st.

You can get this stamp set one of two ways:

1.  Purchase directly from your Close To My Heart consultant or on my website here for $17.95
or
2. Place an order of $50 or more and get this set for only $5

With it being December I am busy with all the handmade gifts that I make for family and friends.  I found a great recipe for creating liquid handsoap and immediately thought of this stamp set - it is perfect for creating the tag for my soap.

First the Soap Recipe:

So simple you only need three ingredients:
Castile Soap (I used fragrance free all natural Kirk's Castile Soap)
Water
Essential Oil (optional and there are many choices - I used peppermint and lemon)

Grate an entire bar of soap into a bowl
Cover with water and let sit overnight

In the morning it will have magically dissolved ;)  You just need to stir and add water until it is the consistency you want and then add your essential oils.

I poured the soap into a small canning jar and then attached a bow and this gift tag I made with the Special Care Stamp Set and the Sparkle & Shine paper pack.

To create the gift tag I took a 2x3 piece of white cardstock. Then I took 1 inch strips of pattern paper and cut them on an angle to create the chevron look.

I had some left over page protector from my card I made with last month's stamp of the month and I cut it to 2 1/4 x 3 1/4.  Using tombow adhesive I put the designed paper inside the protector.

Then I attached a stamped sentiment and small wooden shapes to the outside of the tag.

I turned the tag over and attached a stamped image and a piece of white cardstock to (1) provide a spot for writing on the tag and (2) cover the adhesive from the inside.

Here is another look at the completed project.

This set will work great for laundry room wall art, thinking of you cards, baby card and more.  I have a baby card I created that will post tomorrow so come back and take a look at another way to use this stamp set.

Now it is time to hop on over to Wanda's blog and see what she created.

Creatively Yours,
Elizabeth
